The Trade Page on Prophecy.bet is designed to provide a seamless trading experience for users participating in prediction markets. Below is a detailed breakdown of the interface and functionality for Buying and Selling shares in a market.

Page Overview

The page consists of three primary sections:

  1. Market Overview and Graph: Displays a chart showing the historical price trends of the selected market's outcomes.

    • Graph Details:

      • X-axis: Time (e.g., Nov, Dec)

      • Y-axis: Price of each outcome (e.g., 0.50 for "Yes" and "No")

      • Helps users analise market trends before trading.

  2. Buy/Sell Interaction Panel: Allows users to either buy or sell shares of a market outcome.

  3. Market Trades Table: Displays all recent market trades, showing key details such as the amount, odds, price, and transaction IDs.

Trading Options

  1. Outcome Selection:

    • Options displayed (e.g., "Yes" and "No") with the current price for each outcome.

    • Example:

      • "Yes" priced at 0.500

      • "No" priced at 0.500

  2. Balance and Currency:

    • Shows the user’s wallet balance (e.g., 0.443 SOL) and allows users to select the trading currency (SOL or USDC).

  3. Trade Amount:

    • Input box for specifying the number of shares to buy.

    • Option to adjust the amount using + and - buttons or by typing directly.

    • Balance Percentage:

      • A slider to quickly set trade amounts as a percentage of the total wallet balance (e.g., 25%, 50%, 75%).

  4. Value Estimation:

    • Displays the Value in terms of the selected outcome (e.g., "Yes").

    • Shows the equivalent cost in the chosen currency (e.g., USDC or SOL).

  5. Buy Button:

    • Once the desired amount is set, click Buy to complete the purchase.

    • Confirmation updates the Market Trades Table with the new transaction.

  1. Outcome Selection:

    • Users can choose the outcome they want to sell shares for.

    • Example:

      • Selling "Yes" shares previously purchased.

  2. Sell Amount:

    • Input box for specifying the number of shares to sell.

    • Slider to adjust the amount as a percentage of owned shares.

  3. Balance in ODD:

    • Reflects the user’s current holdings in the selected outcome (e.g., "0 ODD").

  4. Currency Option:

    • Select the currency to receive for the sale (SOL or USDC).

  5. Sell Button:

    • Click Sell to execute the trade.

    • Sold shares are deducted from the balance and reflected in the Market Trades Table.

Market Trades Table

Displays a log of all recent trades in the market:

  • Columns:

    • Date: Timestamp of the trade.

    • Amount (USD): Amount traded in USDC.

    • Amount (ODD): Number of shares traded.

    • Price: The price at which the trade was executed.

    • Odd: The outcome of the trade (e.g., Yes/No).

    • Maker: The wallet address of the market maker.

    • Transaction ID: A clickable link to view the transaction details on the blockchain.

Example Workflow

Buying Shares

  1. Select "Yes" outcome priced at 0.500.

  2. Set the amount to 2 shares.

  3. Choose SOL as the currency and click Buy.

  4. The Market Trades Table updates with a new entry showing the purchase.

Selling Shares

  1. Select "No" outcome.

  2. Input the number of shares to sell or use the slider to adjust.

  3. Click Sell to execute the trade.

  4. The wallet balance and holdings update accordingly.
